Finding specialised and management personnel is not simply a matter of filling a position. It involves bringing together and integrating individual values for cultural fit. Mutual expectations and ideas should complement each other to form the basis for an inspirational and inspired environment that leads to success. The first step is to visit all new clients to get a comprehensive firsthand view of their environment and their needs and to put together a profile of requirements. This allows me to confront any prospective employees as if I were part of my client's company, with a profound knowledge of products, services, philosophy, targets and the people who make up the company. When interviewing prospective candidates I pay close attention to his/her overall personality and employability. The necessary professional qualifications are naturally part of the evaluation and are quickly examined. What I concentrate on, however, is the candidates' commitment to personal change and growth: flexibility, mobility and the ability to learn, especially in terms of a dynamic strategy for life and the capacity to manage career transition. In other words, their social and emotional intelligence as well as their attitude and their ability to work as the member of a team to the mutual benefit of everyone in the organisation. |
